Musical Workshop

On Friday 23rd of June our class attended a music/percussion workshop with Jon Madin.

Jon is a music teacher with a background in a variety of music experiences. His experience includes playing in folk/rock bands, multi-cultural bands, an orchestra, family music workshops and bush dancing. Jon has worked in musical instrument design including marimbas and experimental musical instruments such as J-pipes, musical bikes and echocellos.

Firstly we practised the beat with Jon, Diana and Alan and used the different instruments. Check us out practising …

Finally we then had the other year 3-5 classes who also participated in the performance that day along with some junior primary classes, watch us perform. This was a lot of fun!

Check us out performing to the audience! It was a great way to finish the week.

  1. Dear mrs Baldwin,
I learnt that musical instruments are really fun and I didn’t know that you could make really cool instruments combined with other instruments. I enjoyed when we all played music together and I think it sounds really good. I don’t have any instruments but I have played and I think that they are fun😃.

    1. Dear Max,
I agree with you that if you combine instruments it makes really cool sounds especially the guitar. But you have to keep that beat going no matter what because that’s the main bit in the song.
