On Monday the 11th of April rooms 10 and 6 went on a combined history excursion. Our focus in History for Term 1 and 2 is:
- The diversity and longevity of Australia’s first peoples and the ways they are connected to Country/Place and their pre-contact ways of life
- Stories of the First Fleet, including reasons for the journey, who travelled to Australia, and their experiences following arrival
- The nature of contact between Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the impact that these interactions and colonisation had on the environment and people’s lives
The three places we visited were:
Migration Museum
South Australian Museum
Art Gallery of South Australia
The following day we wrote a recount about our excursion which included all the wonderful things we learnt. Here are some paragraphs from our writing to give you an idea of the types of things we did for the day!
