World Environment Day 2014

World Environment Day was on the 5th of June. This day encourages awareness and action for the environment to make sure we care for the world and look after it for future generations.

Each person completed a “Report Card” on either the school or class to evaluate how”green” we are.

E Day

We then completed a reflection how we could make our school or class “greener” place to be in. There were some terrific ideas written by everyone!

E Day We also created a recycled Earth art piece by filling in all the white space with the appropriate colours (green for land, blue for water and a darker black or grey for the background.

What do you think we could do to make our classroom or school a “greener” place to work in?

What do you already do at home or school to help the environment?

Why do you think it is important to look after the environment for future generations?

  1. Dear Mrs Baldwin,

I think it is important to look after the environment because if we did not have trees we would die from not having oxygen. Also we would not have plants on the world.

I recycle paper and have a compost bin.

Maybe you could make one and bring it in. Then you would have one to but you would also need the poster.

  3. Dear Mrs Baldwin,
I think it is important to look after the environment for future generations because the environment could get really dirty if we didn’t . It would be a disaster if we didn’t look after it for the future.

We could make the classroom a “greener” place if we turned the light off when it is a sunny day so you can let the light in.

  4. Dear Ms Baldwin
I believe that if we don’t look after our environment we are not really looking after ourselves.

  5. Dear Mrs Baldwin,
I think it is important to look after the environment for future generations because if you don’t the environment will just get dirty and all the pollution will go into the sea and kill the animals and that’s not good.

What we do to help the environment is we pick up the rubbish at the beach, we use recycling bins, we turn off the lights when we have finished using them and dry our washing out side on the clothes line instead of in the dryer.
